One aspect of my work that I really enjoy is public speaking! This is because I want to share just how amazing animals are at connecting with their guardians through animal communication. Animals are talking to us all the time and being able to translate for them through interspecies communication is an honour and something that I do to help understanding between an animal and their guardian. So, when I was invited to talk about animal communication, live on BBC Radio Solent a few days ago, I didn’t hesitate to say, yes please!

Radio presenter Lucy Ambache was keen to understand how animal communication works and how I receive messages from animals. I was able to share some of my methods of communicating with animals, including hearing the animal’s voice, being able to connect to them through their Higher Self and seeing visual messages that appear like a replay of an event that the animal has experienced.

We discussed how I experience animal communication as a conversation that is between me and an animal and how I then share this information with the animal’s guardian. I explained that it becomes a three way conversation when I’m with a guardian and their animal on a video call. I’m the “one in the middle” as Lucy put it and this describes my role pretty well!

My aim, during an animal communication session, is for a guardian to feel that they’ve had a conversation with their animal and that they’ve found out what they like or dislike, what they can do to make their animal even happier and how to help and support their animal through behavioural, emotional or physical challenges.

Lucy asked how I know that this is “really happening” and I explained that during a session an animal will usually share information that their guardian can recognise as coming from them. Because of this information, there will often be a “lightbulb moment” of understanding as to why their animal has been behaving in a certain way.

Another way to know that something is “happening” is that they often witness that their animal starts to behave in a slightly different way than they normally would, while we are together on the video call. From my perspective this is because the animal is interacting with the conversation and they want their guardian to notice that they are “talking to them”. I’ll often hear their guardian comment things like, “they’ve never laid like that before” or “they’re looking at me as if they are trying to get the message through to me.” I’m certain that this is because animals are keen for us to hear them and they’ll try to get our attention!

The interview was a brilliant experience and it was wonderful to meet the lovely Lucy Ambache of Radio Solent and discuss animal communication, how it works and some of the animals who have shared their messages with their guardians. I’m really grateful for the opportunity to share this with a wider audience.

You can listen to the episode on BBC iPlayer until the  - end of February 2025. BBC Radio Solent - The Friday Social with Lucy Ambache on 31st January 2025.
